Judicial Experience: Patrick L. McCarty became the judge in Marion Superior Court 3 on January 1, 1991 and has served on that bench since.
Significant Legal Accomplishments: As a member of the Domestic Relations Division of the Marion Superior Court he was instrumental in the development of the Guardian Ad Litem Program and the Children Cope With Divorce Program, both of which are in use now by all the Marion Superior Court which have domestic or child custody jurisdictions.
Other Legal Involvement: Prior to becoming Judge he was a deputy prosecutor, a public defender and a commissioner in the Marion County Probate Court.
