BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION:

Education:  Marc received his J.D. in 1998 from Valparaiso University School of Law.

Judicial Experience:  Marc is currently a sitting Master Commissioner in the Marion County Superior Courts.  Marc was first appointed as Commissioner in Criminal Court 11 in 2003.  While there, he handled initial hearings, probation violations, and plea agreements.  In August 2005, Marc was asked to preside over Marion County Criminal Court 13, Traffic Court.  As the sole judicial officer in Court 13, he manages both the adjudicatory duties as well as the administrative duties such as personnel, budgeting, and productivity.  He is one of the few Commissioners who control all aspects of the court in which he sits.

Significant Legal Accomplishments:  Prior to taking the bench, Marc served as a Deputy Prosecutor in Marion County.  Marc prosecuted criminals in the Juvenile, D-Felony, and Major Felony Courts, trying thousands of cases, from OVWI to Homicide.  In 2002, Marc was assigned to help create a new federally funded firearms taskforce which worked in conjunction with the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Other Legal Involvement:  Marc is an active member of the Indianapolis Bar Association and is currently a member of the Indiana Judicial Conference Committee on Special Courts.  He has also participated in national workshops regarding speed enforcement.

Personal Statement:  "I currently preside over one of Indiana’s busiest courts, which has a caseload of almost 150,000 cases a year.  I am a proponent of efficiency and through administrative and docket management I have reduced both the caseload and the time of case resolution significantly.  It is this model of efficiency I wish to take to the Marion County Superior Courts as a Judge."
