Personal Statement:
After college, I worked as a Registered Nurse for almost seven years and still maintain my R.N. license. As guardian of my brother, who has been institutionalized in mental health facilities for over thirty-five years, I have attended to his needs and visited him twice a month for over twenty-five years. This provides me with a better understanding and I am better attuned to the mental health and physical health of defendants, which has very often been a factor in criminal cases. I am involved in and concerned about our city and society, and being “my brother’s keeper” contributes to my qualifications as judge. Living in Indiana for over 50 years and in Indianapolis for over 35 of those years, I have learned much about our community. A life-long Methodist , I have been actively involved in my church my whole life. I hope you will agree my experience makes me a well-rounded person, qualified to continue serving Marion County as judge.
