Education: 
A native of Indianapolis, Judge Brown earned her bachelor's degree from Indiana State University in 1977 and her law degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1991.

Judicial Experience:
Judge Brown was elected to the Marion Superior Court and took her seat on January 1, 2001 presiding in Criminal Court 21, Domestic Violence Court.  Since 2002 she has been the presiding judge in Criminal Court 10.  Judge Brown is also the current chair of the 2010-2012 Criminal Term.  Before being elected to the bench, Judge Brown practiced law for nine years concentrating in areas of bankruptcy, criminal, civil and probate law.  Judge Brown was a commissioner with the Marion County Superior Court in 2000; and served as judge pro-tempore in the Marion County Center Township Small Claims Court from 1992 to 1999.  She was also an attorney with the Marion County Public Defender Agency.

Significant Legal Accomplishments:
Judge Brown is a 2009 graduate of the Graduate Program for Indiana Judges, and is a Distinguished Fellow of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation.  She has also been appointed by the Indiana Supreme Court to serve on the Protective Order Committee and the Criminal Benchbook Committee.

Judge Brown's legal memberships include the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Marion County Bar Association and the Indiana State Bar Association.
