Judicial Experience:
Judge Borges is the presiding judge in Criminal Courtroom Four, hearing cases involving major felony crimes since 2009. Her first assignment on the bench was Criminal Courtroom Fifteen, where she heard D felony cases. During her two years in Court Fifteen, she streamlined the flow of cases and reduced the overall caseload by nearly 30%. As a Superior Court Judge, she has actively worked to address criminal justice system issues, serving on and chairing the Marion County Community Corrections Board and the Superior Court Emergency Preparedness Committee.

Significant Legal Accomplishments:
Before election to the Marion Superior Court in 2006, Lisa served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for seventeen years, prosecuting general felony, homicide and sex crime cases. Over her career in prosecution, Lisa tried more than 100 cases to juries in Marion and Johnson counties. She was recognized by the Indiana Coalition Against Sexual Assault as the Outstanding Prosecutor of the Year in 2002. Judge Borges has served as Chief Deputy Prosecutor in Johnson County and as Chief of Staff (statutory Chief Deputy) for the Marion County Prosecutor's Office. She has frequently served as faculty at the National Advocacy Center in South Carolina and for the Indiana Prosecuting Attorney’s Council, training trial attorneys.

Lisa is a member of the IndyBar, AJA, the National Association of Women Judges, a Kentucky Colonel and a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
