Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs, with Distinction, received in May, 1985 from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. Doctor of Jurisprudence received in December, 1987 from Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington, IN.

Judicial Experience:
Elected to the Marion Superior Court bench in 2000 and 2006.   Judge, Marion County Superior Court, Criminal Division Room 3.  January 2004 to present.   Handle major felony cases, including murder charges and Class A, B, and C felonies.  Maintain average felony caseload of approximately 200+ cases at any given time.   Judge, Marion Superior Court, Criminal Division Room 17.  January 2001 to December 2003. Handled misdemeanor and D felony domestic violence cases.

Significant Legal Accomplishments:
January 1995-December 2000:  Felony Chief & Chief Trial Deputy, Marion County Prosecutor’s Office: supervised approximately 100 attorneys in trial practice work in all divisions of the office.   January 1991-December 1994: Chief Deputy, Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office: handled the sex crimes caseload for the office while assisting in the supervision of lawyers and professional staff.   June 1987-December 1990: Intern & Deputy Prosecutor, Marion County Prosecutor’s Office: assigned to the juvenile division for 6 months, then promoted to major felony court handling a general felony caseload.

Personal Statement:
It has been an honor and privilege to serve as a Marion Superior Court Judge.  The major felony courts in Marion County handle some very difficult and challenging cases.  It is important to have judicial officers who have experience and understand the needs of the litigants in these cases.  I believe it is my responsibility to ensure that the Court is one where justice is administered fairly and efficiently and all parties have the opportunity to be heard.  I will continue to work towards this goal as long as I have the opportunity to serve.
