BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION:

Education:  A.S. Nursing, University of Indianapolis 1973, B.A., University of Indianapolis, 1987, J.D., May 1990, Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis, Indiana.

 

Judicial Experience:  Candidate for Marion Superior Court Judge, November 2006.

 

Significant Legal Accomplishments:  Lisa Borges is currently the Chief of Staff for the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office and has served as Chief Deputy in Johnson County. She has presented over 100 cases to juries. Lisa was honored by the Indiana Coalition against Sexual Assault as their 2002 Outstanding Prosecutor of the Year.

 

Other Legal Involvement:  Lisa frequently serves as faculty at the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina.  She has actively worked within the criminal justice system to address system issues, serving on several Boards and committees, such as:  Drug Free Marion County ex-officio Board Member 2003-2005, Member, Drug Court/Re-Entry Court Executive Committee, MCPO representative to Criminal Justice Planning Council subcommittee on Jail Overcrowding.

 

Personal Statement:  The challenges facing our community demand a dedicated and creative response.  Throughout my legal career, I have endeavored to bring conscientious, patient and thorough consideration to the matters entrusted to me.  I have the right combination of passion for justice, talent and common sense to serve as Superior Court Judge.
