Judicial Experience:
Marcel A. Pratt Jr. has frequently served as judge pro tem in criminal and small claims courts of the Marion Superior Court system. 

Significant Legal Accomplishments:
Marcel began his legal career as a licensed attorney in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  He maintained a practice in both Indiana and Pennsylvania for several years. He formerly practiced in the law firms of Moss and Walton and Walton and Pratt. He has served the citizens of Indianapolis as a public defender, private practitioner and pro tem judge. Having tried over 100 trials, both before a jury and to the bench, and managing a successful law practice for 30 years has instilled in him an appreciation of the needs and time restraints on attorneys as they strive to represent their clients effectively.

Other Legal Involvement:
Marcel is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, a life member of the Marion County Bar Association, and a member of the National Bar Association. He has been involved in numerous pro bono projects involving youth and underprivileged citizens.

Personal Statement:
I strive to demonstrate a strong sense of fairness and impartiality. I have a strong work ethic and know the court system well. My goal is to ensure all litigants have effective access to the courts without regard to financial circumstances, and that the Marion Superior Court operates a system under rules of procedure which reflect best practices of the law. I have been married for 29 years to Tanya Walton Pratt, and we are the proud parents of a daughter, Lena Pratt.
